The Cincinnati Bengals will be without promising young cornerback Darqueze Dennard for the rest of the season. Dennard needs shoulder surgery that will end his year.
A former first round pick, Dennard had played an increased role in his second season. In 10 games, he'd recorded 20 tackles, three pass breakups and an interception.
The Bengals were without starter Adam Jones last night against the Arizona Cardinals, which led to Dennard getting the start. The team still has Dre Kirkpatrick and Leon Hall, but the depth is thinning.
Rookie Josh Shaw is on the roster, but he's played sparingly. He has five tackles this season. Chris Lewis-Harris has played in just four games this season.
With Dennard done for the year and Jones hurting, the Bengals might try to add another corner. The Bengals have no corners on the practice squad.
