The 2015 NFL Draft is just a few days away, and there’s plenty of reason to be excited about the festivities in Chicago if you’re a Cincinnati Bengals fan. Here’s our breakdown of everything Bengals fans need to know heading into draft week.
Dorial Green-Beckham On Cincy's Radar At #21
Perhaps the 2015 NFL Draft’s most polarizing wide receiving prospect, former Oklahoma Sooners/Missouri Tigers wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham might be on the Cincinnati Bengals‘ first-round radar in the uncoming 2015 NFL Draft.
Per Bryan Fischer of NFL.com, Green-Beckham “made a pair of visits with wide receiver-needy teams” recently, including the Cincinnati Bengals per NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport and Albert Breer.
While Green-Beckham definitely has first-round talent, a litany of off-the-field issues could very well lead to him falling to the draft’s second day.
Back in 2014, Green-Beckham was dismissed from the Missouri football program after being named as a suspect in a burglary and assault investigation by area police. He never was charged, but there’s also the matter of two marijuana-related incidents and a general reputation as a troubled talent in need of some heavy coaching — all red flags that may cause the Bengals to look elsewhere for skill-position talent early in the draft.
However, if Cincy is willing to look past Green-Beckham's checkered past, he could very well be an impact pick...as long as he keeps his head screwed on straight.
Rising Defensive End Prospect A Potential Go At #21?
The Bengals are on the lookout for pass rushers in the 2015 NFL Draft, and they may have found a top target for their draft board.
Per Chase Goodbread of NFL.com, “count the San Diego Chargers, Cincinnati Bengals and San Francisco 49ers among the NFL teams that have shown draft interest in Kentucky pass rusher Bud Dupree.”
Dupree has shot up the ranks in various mock drafts thanks to his top-tier athleticism and wealth of natural power. It's possible he could be gone by the time Cincy hits the clock, but he's a name to keep an eye out for if he's still available.
