A man in a black-and-white Cincinnati football jersey and one of those visors with faux bright red hair stood at field's edge in Nippert Stadium Friday following his favorite team's 27-24 upset of No. 18 UCF.
He extended his hand to Bearcats players as they exited to a raucous-sounding party in the locker room.
"Thank you," the fan said. "I really appreciate what you've done."
One player replied: "No problem."
Yeah, UC secured its first win against a ranked opponent since 2009, handing UCF its first conference loss since November 2016 by holding the Knights to fewer than 30 points for the first time in 31 games.
