WATCH UC signee Samari Curtis hits 40 for Xenia Scott Springer, sspringer@enquirer.com
A day after Xenia High School's Samari Curtis turned heads at the Ohio/Kentucky All-Star game at Thomas More, the University of Cincinnati hired John Brannen from Northern Kentucky University to replace Mick Cronin as Bearcats basketball coach.
Curtis signed a letter of intent with UC in November and after Cronin departed for UCLA last Monday, Xenia coach Kent Anderson said he had talked with Curtis and the 6-4 Ohio Mr. Basketball would honor his agreement.
Curtis had previously been a Xavier commit but flipped to the Bearcats after the Musketeers had a coaching change.
