The University of Cincinnati will apparently enter next season without basketball star Jacob Evans III who announced via Twitter Sunday his intention to leave school for the National Basketball Association.
The junior guard had been mulling the decision and head coach Mick Cronin said he would help Evans III with the process, in a March 19 story.
More on Evans from Tom Groeschen:
Evans, who led UC in scoring (13.0 ppg) for the second consecutive season, is projected in several 2018 NBA mock drafts as a potential late first-round or second-round pick.
Evans, a 6-foot-6, 210-pound guard from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, joined UC as a consensus four-star prospect in the 2015-16 season.
