Already a unanimous American Athletic Conference First Team selection, the University of Cincinnati's Jarron Cumberland added AAC Player of the Year honors Wednesday. League coaches voted Cumberland the award making it the second straight year the Bearcats have had the Player of the Year. Current Houston Rocket Gary Clark was recognized last season.
Cumberland who was notified just prior to practice Wednesday morning said his path to the top began last summer. He also was inspired seeing Gary Clark win last year.
