WEST HARRISON, Ind. - Boomer Esiason said this week that he probably has CTE. Ditto University of Cincinnati head coach Luke Fickell, who said the latest reports about football brain injuries will not stop him from having his sons play the sport.
Fickell, who turns 44 next week, was an Ohio State University nose guard in the 1990s. Fickell also banged heads as a high school state champion wrestler, and he acknowledged that he probably has collateral damage.
Former Bengals quarterback Esiason said on his radio show Monday that he probably has CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy) from playing football.
