NEWPORT, R.I. – Luke Fickell already is steaming with motivation for the 2017 football season, regardless of where his University of Cincinnati team lands in the American Athletic Conference preseason media poll here Tuesday.
First-year UC coach Fickell will lead the Bearcats contingent to AAC media day at Gurney’s Newport Resort & Marina, along with running back Mike Boone, offensive tackle Korey Cunningham and linebacker Jaylyin Minor. ESPN analyst Phil Steele predicts UC to finish tied for third place in the AAC East, while Athlon and Lindy’s Sports magazines both have UC at No. 4 in the six-team AAC East.
