Mick Cronin is on the verge of 300 career wins as a college basketball coach, and the University of Cincinnati boss figures to reach that plateau when UC plays host to Tulsa on Saturday (noon, ESPNU).
No. 18-ranked UC (23-3, 12-1 American Athletic Conference) beat Tulsa (12-13, 6-7 AAC) 57-55 on Feb. 1 at Tulsa. The Bearcats will be an even bigger favorite Saturday, against a Golden Hurricanes team that has lost five consecutive games.
Cronin is 299-156 as a college head coach. That includes three years at Murray State (69-24) and 11 years at UC (230-132).
