The best University of Cincinnati women’s basketball team in many years took its best shot at No. 1-ranked Connecticut on Tuesday night. UC again learned, as AC/DC once noted, that it’s a long way to the top if you want to rock ‘n’ roll.
UConn easily beat the Bearcats 96-49 before 4,029 fans at Fifth Third Arena, the largest crowd of the UC women’s home season.
UConn (23-0, 11-0 American Athletic Conference) extended its overall winning streak to a record 98 games. The Huskies have won the last four NCAA Division I championships, and 11 national titles overall under Naismith Hall of Fame coach Geno Auriemma.
