The University of Cincinnati basketball team hopes a flu bug that has bit the team is on the way out by Saturday night. That's when the Bearcats host Connecticut, a 10-6 team under new coach Dan Hurley.
The Bearcats had three starters that needed IV fluids Thursday in Tulsa just to play. Utilizing all 11 players at his disposal, UC coach Mick Cronin, who was also ill this past week, managed to snare a road win at Tulsa, 70-65 in overtime.
Coming off what many felt was there worse American Athletic Conference loss ever at East Carolina, the unlikely road triumph in overtime at Tulsa was a prescription no pharmacy could fill.
