MEMPHIS, Tennessee – On a day when former Memphis Tiger Landers Nolley II was ferociously booed, the University of Cincinnati turned the basketball over at an alarming rate, costing them a valuable American Athletic Conference victory. Memphis won in front of a boisterous blue crowd in improbable fashion, 76-73.
Viktor Lakhin made a turnaround banked 3-pointer with less than a second to cut the Memphis lead to 74-73, but Kendric Davis iced it with a pair of late free throws.
Davis led all scorers with 26 points while DeAndre Williams added 21 for Memphis. UC was led by David DeJulius with 16, Landers Nolley II with 13 and Ody Oguama with 12.
