UC powers past George Mason

NICEVILLE, Florida - A day after a Sunshine State Thanksgiving in Destin, the University of Cincinnati men's basketball team crossed the Mid-Bay Bridge Friday to work off the turkey and trimmings against George Mason University.

In the Emerald Coast Classic semifinal, UC powered past the Patriots 71-55 in a game where they never trailed.

The game was tied for a little over a minute in the first half, but UC led the rest of the way. Cane Broome led all scorers with 21 points and junior Rashawn Fredericks was strong in the second half scoring 11 points in 11 minutes, a career-high.
