Most football coaches do not work in a stadium where their jersey number hangs in the Ring of Honor, but Gino Guidugli is not most football coaches.
Guidugli, who set multiple University of Cincinnati records as a quarterback from 2001-04, has returned to Nippert Stadium as Bearcats running backs coach. Guidugli spent most of the past decade away from Cincinnati, and he jumped at a chance to join the new UC staff of Luke Fickell.
"It's great to get back home," the 34-year-old Guidugli said Friday, after a rainy UC workout at Nippert. "Not only did I play here, but I'm from just across the river in Fort Thomas.
