Few Cincinnati Bearcats were more disgusted with their 2016 football season than placekicker Andrew Gantz, who watched most of the misery from the sidelines.
Gantz was coming off a big year in 2015, when his 112 points set a UC season record for kickers. Primed for another strong season in 2016, Gantz instead suffered a hip/quad injury in preseason camp. Gantz was limited to two games before re-injuring himself, and he missed the rest of a discouraging 4-8 season.
Gantz also missed most of 2017 spring football, but the Centerville High School (Ohio) graduate pronounced himself healthy as UC began preseason camp this week.
