WEST HARRISON, Ind. – Any way you cut it, the University of Cincinnati football team was among America's worst in 2017 in special-teams efficiency.
UC, which went 4-8 last season, was ranked No. 121st nationally by Football Outsiders and 106th by ESPN in their respective special-teams ratings. The many factors include field goal efficiency, kickoff return efficiency and kickoff efficiency, punt return efficiency, punt efficiency, and net starting field position for offensive and defensive possessions.
