The University of Cincinnati women’s basketball team is enjoying its best season in the eight-year tenure of coach Jamelle Elliott. The Bearcats will get a true measure of their progress when No. 1-ranked Connecticut visits Fifth Third Arena on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The UConn machine (22-0, 10-0 American Athletic Conference this season) has won a record 97 consecutive games, and has won the last four NCAA championships. UConn has won 11 national titles overall, tied with the UCLA men for most in college basketball.
After an 8-22 record last year, the Bearcats (14-8, 5-4 AAC) this season were picked by AAC coaches to finish 10th in the 11-team league.
