In their last basketball game of 2018 on Dec. 22, University of Cincinnati center Nysier Brooks said the team's 2019 success would be dependent on how the Bearcats handled their holiday break.
By all indications, the 11-days without a game was not a big deal as UC came out firing Wednesday evening in their American Athletic Conference opener with Tulane. UC turned a 19-14 game into a 52-28 advantage by halftime with 54.8 percent shooting from the field, including a red-hot 9-of-15 from the perimeter.
