Many see Cincinnati Bearcats head coach Luke Fickell as a top candidate to follow Mark Dantonio as Michigan State's head coach after Dantonio announced his retirement on Tuesday.
But Fickell's defensive coordinator, Marcus Freeman, turned down an offer from the NFL's Tennessee Titans to become their linebackers coach, according to a report via Twitter on Tuesday evening from NFL Network's Albert Breer.
The Enquirer's Fletcher Page wrote in December that UC's success has raised Freeman's profile and made him a likely candidate for many positions.
