LAS VEGAS – Having only ventured outside the friendly confines of Fifth-Third Arena for neutral court games so far this season, the Cincinnati Bearcats wanted to be tested on the road in a true road game environment.
The Bearcats got the test they were seeking against the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and passed it.
On a night when Cincinnati's leading scorer Jarron Cumberland was ineffective for long stretches of the nearly 25 minutes he played, UC improved to 7-1 overall with an unrefined yet gritty 65-61 victory against the UNLV Runnin' Rebels (4-3) Saturday at the university's on-campus Thomas and Mack Center.
