University of Cincinnati basketball head coach John Brannen will be inducted into the Marshall University Athletics Hall of Fame, the school announced Saturday.
As a senior in 1997, Brannen, named the Bearcats' head coach in April, was first-team All-Southern Conference and led the league with 20.9 points per game. He was also named the 1997 Southern Conference Tournament MVP despite the Thundering Herd losing to Chattanooga, 71-70, in the conference finals and missing out on the NCAA Tournament.
"You knew when you walked into practice what you were going to get every single day," former Marshall coach Greg White told The Enquirer earlier this year.
