TULSA, Okla. – Entering Wednesday night’s late basketball game here, the University of Cincinnati is winning at a rate rarely seen in the 11-year Mick Cronin coaching era.
The No. 14-ranked Bearcats (19-2, 8-0 American Athletic Conference) took a 12-game winning streak into their game against Tulsa (12-8, 6-2 AAC).
UC’s 19-2 record matches the best 21-game start under Cronin, along with the 2013-14 team. The Bearcats’ 12-game winning streak is their longest since the 2013-14 team won 15 straight.
UC entered Wednesday one win shy of its seventh consecutive 20-win season, with the six previous all resulting in NCAA Tournament appearances.
