It was the end of Fifth Third Arena civilization as we know it, and it became one big party.
The University of Cincinnati men’s basketball team beat Houston 65-47 on Thursday night, in the final home game before the arena undergoes an $87 million renovation. UC will play home games next season at Northern Kentucky University’s BB&T Arena, then return to Fifth Third for the 2018-19 season.
UC seniors Troy Caupain, Kevin Johnson and Zack Tobler went out in style. The No. 18-ranked Bearcats (26-4, 15-2 American Athletic Conference) throttled a good Houston team (20-9, 11-6 AAC).
