The last time head coach Luke Fickell and the University of Cincinnati Bearcats football team played Tulsa was Oct. 19 of last season.
It was Game No. 7 of the year for the then-6-1 Bearcats, and frankly, just another opponent on their schedule.
Cincinnati defeated the Golden Hurricane, 24-13, at Nippert Stadium.
"Last year, as they came in here, I don't even know what their record was, but I knew that they had had a lot of close games and hadn't won them," Fickell said. "I thought it was a really good football team when they came here, and then they left out of here, and I knew it was a really good football team.
