Cincinnati Bearcats safeties Darrick Forrest and James Wiggins and cornerback Ahmad Gardner have been named to the watch list for the Jim Thorpe Award presented annually to the best defensive back in college football.
The Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame and the Jim Thorpe Association announced Monday the preseason watch list for the award, which is named in honor of College Football Hall of Famer and Pro Football Hall of Famer Jim Thorpe, and is presented to individual athletes based on on-field performance, athletic ability and character.
Cincinnati is the only program with three players on the 49-person watch list.
