STARKVILLE, MS - There are several casinos reasonably near Mississippi State's campus in Starkville, but none in the college town itself. That didn't stop "threes" from rolling up with alarming regularity Saturday night in "Stark Vegas" as the Bulldogs hit 12-of-23 in their 70-59 win over the University of Cincinnati.
"Our number one goal is you've got to hold them to one shot and we failed at that," UC coach Mick Cronin said.
If you're inclined to wager, you can bet if your opponent hits 52.2 percent of their three-balls you probably are going to lose. You will see more of Mississippi State who is currently ranked ahead of the likes of Kentucky, Wisconsin and Arizona State and likely to go up Monday in both polls from their 18/17 (AP/USA Today) slot.
