After going nip and tuck through most of January in the American Athletic Conference, it probably was comforting for University of Cincinnati coach Mick Cronin and most of the 10,484 at Fifth Third Arena Thursday night to have a wire-to-wire 88-64 win over Tulsa.
Two weeks prior, it looked like UC was going down to a second straight AAC loss until Cane Broome resuscitated the Bearcats in Tulsa with seven straight points to tie. UC then clawed out a 70-65 overtime win despite several players suffering flu symptoms.
One of those was Justin Jenifer who played just 13 minutes.
