Unhappy Cronin reviews UC's win over UConn/ Tom Groeschen
Beating a team by 25 points generally is a good thing, but University of Cincinnati basketball coach Mick Cronin mostly saw negatives in a 77-52 home win over Connecticut on Thursday.
No. 11-ranked UC (24-4, 13-2 American Athletic Conference) overwhelmed a UConn team (13-15, 6-9 AAC) that played without top scorer Jalen Adams, who sat with flu-like symptoms.
The Bearcats led by as many as 28 points. Senior forward Gary Clark led UC with 17 points and had five rebounds, and Cronin was able to play his reserves extensively.
