Ohio State football reportedly set to hire Cincinnati's Perry Eliano as safeties coach

Ohio State is set to hire Cincinnati cornerbacks coach Perry Eliano as a new safeties coach for the program, according to multiple reports, making him the first addition to the defensive coaching staff under newly arrived coordinator Jim Knowles.

Eliano was credited for shaping the development of decorated cornerbacks Coby Bryant and Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, who were critical in helping the Bearcats become the first team from a Group of Five conference to reach the College Football Playoff last season.

Bryant was the recipient of the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation’s top defensive back, while Gardner was also a consensus All-American.
