The Cincinnati Bearcats added their first Ohio commitment of the 2016 recruiting class in quarterback Jake Sopko from Avon in the Northeast part of the state. Bearcat Journal was all over this one, per usual.
Sopko was actually playing pickup basketball at his high school in Northeast Ohio when the Bearcats came calling.
“I let (Cincinnati) know that I was ready to commit a few days ago. They’ve been telling me that I’m their guy,” Sopko said. “I was playing basketball today and they called me. They asked if I wanted to commit.
