Forget the recent Cincinnati football trend.
The No. 17 Bearcats steamrolled UConn 48-3 Saturday at Nippert Stadium, taking an authoritative step forward after previously struggling with two teams with the worst records in the American Athletic Conference.
The Bearcats' biggest stars led the way.
Running backs Michael Warren and Gerrid Doaks combined for three touchdowns and quarterback Desmond Ridder connected with tight end Josiah Deguara on two scoring passes to send UC into halftime with a 38-0 lead.
There was essentially no doubt of the outcome after Deguara hauled in his first touchdown minutes into the contest.
