The NCAA announced a series of rule changes that actually seem to have the intention of improving the game and helping the players, as opposed to jerking them around as they’re prone to do. The list of proposed changes are below.
- Shot clock reduced from 35 seconds to 30 seconds
- Reducing the number of timeouts each team has from 5 to 4
- No more than 3 timeouts may be carried over to the second half
- Push back restricted arc where defensive players can’t draw a charge from 3 ft to 4 ft
The first one is key for a Bearcats team that struggled with pace last season and hasn’t been all that great in that area for the last couple of of years.
