Jacob Evans III appears certain to be a National Basketball Association draftee on Thursday night, which would make Evans the first former University of Cincinnati player selected since 2010.
The outlook is less certain for a Xavier University player to be taken this year, but both UC and XU have multiple NBA hopefuls on the eve of the two-round 2018 draft.
Evans, a 6-foot-6, 210-pound guard/forward, is widely projected as a late first-round or second-round pick in various mock drafts. Evans would be the first UC player drafted since Lance Stephenson, who was drafted by the Indiana Pacers in the second round (40th overall) in 2010.
