Fickell can sometimes ooze with coach speak. It's a method of direct communication that wisely safeguards against potentially damaging omissions but sometimes lacks for intrigue.
Fickell learned coach speak as a disciple of former Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel and fine-tuned his aptitude for the art during his time in charge of the 2011 Buckeyes. He's been perfecting it ever since.
