The Washington Nationals announced Monday that they signed former Princeton High School and University of Cincinnati Bearcats standout Josh Harrison, and added him to their 30-man roster.
Last week, MLB Network's Jon Heyman reported that the Cincinnati Reds were among several MLB teams interested in Harrison, who turned 33 earlier this month.
Harrison requested and was granted his release by the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday, the team announced. Harrison agreed last November to a minor-league deal with the Phillies that included an invitation to Spring Training.
The Detroit Tigers released Harrison last August after he hit .
