GEORGE TOWN, Grand Cayman – The Cincinnati Bearcats were supposed to win the inaugural Cayman Islands Classic basketball tournament here this week, and UC emphatically did that Wednesday night.
The No. 12 Bearcats thundered past Wyoming 78-53 in the tournament finals at John Gray Gymnasium. UC was the only ranked team in the eight-school field.
UC (6-0) was led by senior forward Gary Clark with 17 points and seven rebounds. Clark scored UC's first 13 points of the game, and he was named tournament MVP in a postgame ceremony.
Senior forward Kyle Washington had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Bearcats.
