Instant analysis: Cincinnati Bearcats rout Embry-Riddle in basketball exhibition

If nothing else, the University of Cincinnati basketball team has proved that it would have a strong chance of winning the NCAA Division II title this season.

UC crushed another D-II team, Embry-Riddle (Fla.), 101-68 in an exhibition game Sunday before 3,589 fans at the Bearcats' temporary home, Northern Kentucky University's BB&T Arena.

UC routed Division II's No. 3-ranked team, Bellarmine, 89-61 in its exhibition opener last week. The Bearcats, ranked No. 12 nationally in the Associated Press Division I preseason poll, overwhelmed Embry-Riddle from the start. The Bearcats led by as much as 37 points in the first half and 42 in the second half, as they ran and scored at will and dominated all phases of play.
