UC trailed by 10 points in the first half, but easily overcame upset-minded South Florida 78-55 at the USF Sun Dome, in an American Athletic Conference game that matched the preseason league favorite against the preseason choice to finish last.
For UC, junior guard Jacob Evans III scored his 1,000th career point via a 3-pointer with 2:29 left. Evans had 16 points on the night, as he became the 52nd member of UC's 1,000-point club.
