HYDE PARK - Followers of Withrow High School baseball may be shocked to know the school has been to the Ohio state tournament seven times, more than many of the schools in the area. They actually own three state titles but haven't won in 68 years.
The 1950 squad featured three players who went on to become captains in college. Chuck Duquette pitched for Miami University, Dick Ernst caught for Ohio State and Ike Misali played at the University of Cincinnati.
That trio helped the Tigers to the Class A baseball crown in the spring of 1950.
