Four University of Cincinnati football players earned All-American Athletic Conference honors and the team picked up the league's team academic award for the third straight year, the AAC announced Wednesday.
Punter James Smith (Wangaratta, Australia/Galen College) earned a spot on the first team, with offensive tackle Korey Cunningham (Montevallo, Alabama/Montevallo) and linebacker Jaylyin Minor (Navasota, Texas/Navasota) being tabbed for second-team honors. Defensive tackle Marquise Copeland (Cleveland, Ohio/Bedford) earned honorable mention accolades.
The four all-conference selections are the Bearcats' most since seven players were named in 2015.
Smith, a true freshman, kicked 64 times for a 42.
