Update: With NKU Norse head coach John Brannen expected to become the Cincinnati Bearcats' new head coach, according to multiple reports, UC associate head coach Darren Savino is expected to join former UC head coach Mick Cronin on UCLA's coaching staff, according to Cronin's remarks at his introductory press conference.
CBS Sports and Stadium reporters tweeted Sunday afternoon that UC is expected to hire Brannen.
Earlier: Darren Savino doesn't have the experience as a head coach that NKU's John Brannen or Murray State's Matt McMahon have.
What Savino does have, according to a report Sunday morning via Twitter from Stadium's Jeff Goodman, is the support of many coaches:
Mick Cronin - who left the Bearcats last week to become the new head coach of the UCLA Bruins - is among those who have endorsed Savino for the UC job, and Cronin added that Savino will be part of his UCLA staff if he doesn't become Cincinnati's head coach.
