Colts address critical WR need by drafting Cincinnati star Alec Pierce with No. 53 pick

INDIANAPOLIS — Frank Reich and Chris Ballard spent the offseason talking about the young wide receivers in their room, the belief they had despite a lack of production at the position outside of Michael Pittman Jr.

The Colts waited, traded back, watched 10 players come off the board at the position Indianapolis needed most.

And then Indianapolis drafted Cincinnati wide receiver Alec Pierce, addressing their position of biggest need with their first pick in a manner that is becoming an annual tradition for Ballard.
