Here’s my Thursday night quick pick, coming from our very own AAC.
Memphis (5-1) at Houston (4-2): Memphis looks like hot stuff coming off their shootout win against Navy last week. This team can score some points. They average more than 40 a game. Quarterback Riley Ferguson has already thrown 19 touchdown passes in 6 games. Wideout Anthony Miller is on pace to set the school records for receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.
None of that matters though. Memphis can’t play a lick of defense. They are especially porous against the run. Houston is going to saddle up with lead running back Duke Catalon, get behind that beefy offense line of theirs, and ground and pound their way to a Thursday night triumph.
