CINCINNATI -- Gary Clark hit 9 of 10 shots and all three of his free throws for a career-high 21 points and Cincinnati opened the season by rolling over Western Carolina 97-72 on Friday night.
Octavius Ellis added 17 points, making 8 of 11 shots, and 10 rebounds for the Bearcats, who shot 61 percent for the game and out-rebounded the Catamounts 43-27.
Cincinnati rolled to a 42-22 lead at the half, limiting the Catamounts to 23 percent shooting. Farad Cobb made back-to-back 3-pointers as the Bearcats ended the half on a 10-1 run.
