Cincinnati Bearcats punter James Smith has been named to the watch list for the Ray Guy Award, presented annually to the best punter in college football.
The Augusta Sports Council on Wednesday announced the list, which featured Smith for the third straight year.
"James might be one of the best, toughest dudes on the team," Cincinnati head coach Luke Fickell said. "He's a real pro. He could play linebacker if we needed him to."
The 6-foot-5, 232-pound senior was a finalist for the award in 2018 and earned his third All-American Athletic Conference honor last season.
