Cincinnati football will face Boston College in the Birmingham Bowl, a source with direct knowledge told The Enquirer Sunday.
The two teams will meet Jan. 2 at 3:30 p.m. in the 71,594-seat Legion Field in Alabama. The game will be broadcast by ESPN. The postseason destination for the Bearcats (10-3) is a consolation of sorts after falling Saturday to Memphis 29-24 in the AAC Championship game. A win against the Tigers likely would have granted UC a bid to the New Year's Six Cotton Bowl Classic.
