Cincinnati Bearcats women's basketball team falls, 69-55, in WNIT quarterfinals

FORT WORTH, Texas – The University of Cincinnati women’s basketball team's historic season came to a close Sunday with a 69-55 loss to the TCU Horned Frogs in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament quarterfinals at Schollmaier Arena.

The Bearcats were led by junior guard Antoinette Miller, who scored a career-high 25 points, including 19 in the first half. Miller was joined in double figures by sophomore forward Iimar’i Thomas, who had 13 points – all of which were scored in the third quarter – and a team-best eight rebounds.

The Bearcats’ historic accomplishments this season include the first time with consecutive postseason wins in program history, their first 20-win season since 2003, first time with 12 or more conference wins since 1999, highest-ever finish in the American Athletic Conference (third place) and first time with three or more regular-season conference honorees since 2003.
