UC's Cumberland recaps comeback win at USF/ Tom Groeschen
It was not as easy as the score indicates, but the University of Cincinnati's 78-55 basketball win at South Florida on Saturday night again showed the resiliency of a veteran team.
The No. 14-ranked Bearcats (15-2, 4-0 American Athletic Conference) withstood a quick start by prohibitive underdog USF (7-11, 0-5 AAC) to win comfortably. UC trailed 19-9 and 21-11 in the first half, rallied for a 35-33 lead by halftime, then controlled the game thereafter.
UC's night was capped by a postgame visit from former Louisville coach Rick Pitino, who had Bearcats coach Mick Cronin on his U of L staff in the early 2000s.
