University of Cincinnati men's basketball coach John Brannen recently had his team read "The Precious Present" by Spencer Johnson. The book, through a story about a boy, tells a tale about seeking a deeper level of fulfillment and personal happiness.
The key to obtaining that level, according to Johnson's novel, is blocking out the chaos and issues of the past and the questions and uncertainty of the future and instead being fully present, living in the moment and simply enjoying today.
Brannen said a beneficiary of Johnson's story has been forward Tari Eason, who on Wednesday was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Freshman team.
