Bearcats must fix defense against Florida/ Tom Groeschen
NEWARK, N.J. - The No. 17-ranked University of Cincinnati basketball team faces the reeling No. 5 Florida Gators here Saturday night in the Never Forget Tribute Classic, but UC coach Mick Cronin said the Bearcats must fix their defense to have a chance to win.
UC (7-1) comes off a humbling 89-76 loss at then-No. 21 (now No. 13) Xavier last Saturday, when the usually stout Bearcats defense looked lost and overwhelmed.
Florida (5-3) has lost three straight games and suffered an embarrassing 65-59 home loss to Loyola-Chicago on Wednesday, but Cronin takes nothing for granted against a team still ranked 12th nationally in scoring at 90.
